This multi-year project is identifying insect pests responsible for reducing soybean yield and grain quality and how often control measures, including seed treatment and foliar insecticides, provide a return on investment. Information from this project will be used to determine threshold levels for these pests as well as integrated management recommendations.

Read below for a project update provided by Dr. Nick Seiter.

“Preliminary analyses of the 2024 data are complete. They show that insect pests did not exceed economic thresholds at our sites in 2024 and, as expected in that scenario, yield was not reduced in the untreated plots.”

Seiter is still seeking on-farm cooperator sites for the 2025 growing season. If you are interested in participating, email Dr. Seiter at nseiter@illinois.edu or fill out this interest form.
