Chris is a sixth-generation farmer from Finksburg, MD. He farms with his parents, wife (Megan), and two kids. Their operation grows corn, soybeans, and rye for distilleries. Chris and his family pride themselves on thinking of new ways of increasing yield while still protecting the soil and doing what is right for the soil. They started pushing yields in 2010 and have had great success achieving soybean yields of 158 bushels/acre on non-irrigated land. He has never been satisfied with the status quo of agriculture and refuses to be told there is something farmers cannot achieve. Chris’ ultimate goal is to grow 200+ bushels no-till non-irrigated soybeans.

You make thousands of decisions every single growing season, but it’s vital to have the best guidance and information possible. Illinois Soybean Association is launching an effort to develop an on-farm trial network to assess and evaluate some of those tricky topics that we all wish we had more information about. Learn more about how to get involved and the topics the on-farm trial network will aim to address.
