This presentation was recorded at the 2024 Soybean Summit on February 1st in Champaign, IL.

Dr. Nick Seiter and Kelly Estes recap soybean insect pest issues of 2023, including recent results of surveys for dectes stem borer and the potentially invasive soybean gall midge, as well as information on management of these insect pests. In addition, management recommendations and chemical control results for green cloverworm and bean leaf beetle are discussed.

Dr. Nick Seiter is a Field Crop Entomologist with the University of Illinois. He develops insect management recommendations for soybean and corn production in Illinois. He has a PhD in entomology from Clemson University, and BS and MS degrees in Entomology from Purdue University.

Kelly Estes is an entomologist with the Illinois Natural History Survey at the University of Illinois. As the State Ag Pest Survey Coordinator, she coordinates trapping and surveys not only for economic and emerging field crop pests, but invasive species as well. She received her BS and MS degrees in Crop Sciences from the University of Illinois.
