Dr. Giovani Preza Fontes discusses Science for Success, a resource dedicated to delivering soybean best management practices. He highlights ongoing research and nationwide trial collaborations.

Dr. Giovani Preza Fontes holds a bachelor’s degree from the Federal University of Mato Grosso (Brazil), a master’s in agronomy from Kansas State University, and a PhD in crop sciences from UIUC. He previously worked at Purdue University, coordinating research on corn nitrogen fertilizer management in cover crop systems. Currently, Dr. Preza Fontes leads the UIUC Field Crops Extension & Research Program, focusing on improving agronomic and environmental performance of field crops in Illinois. His research aims to enhance grain yield, nutrient use efficiency, and reduce environmental impacts like nitrate leaching and greenhouse gas emissions. He also teaches and leads extension outreach activities.
