If you know a good CCA who has helped you increase your soybean knowledge and production, nominate him/her for the Master Soybean Adviser award.
Illinois has a lot of qualified CCAs—there are nearly 1300 of them across the state. These CCAs are either farmers, work directly with farmers and advise them on their practices, or work for a product manufacturer, seed company or distributor. The CCAs in Illinois are all well-trained, certified and have to continue their education to remain certified.
Last December the Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) announced its first Soybean Master Adviser Award. ISA wants to recognize CCAs who are passionate about helping farmers and have a focus on soybean management. We know there are many CCAs in Illinois who qualify for this award and we have worked with many of them through the ILSoyAdvisor Envoy program, summits, field days and other activities.
If you know a CCA who is a strong agronomist, has a passion for soybeans and promotes better management, we encourage you to nominate them. The individual needs to be a currently active CCA. The application process should take about 15 minutes to complete online.

Nominations are being accepted until January 29. The 2017 recipient will be announced at the ILSoyAdvisor Summit in Peoria February 16.
