Attention Illinois farmers!

Prof. Kaiyu Guan and his research team at the University of Illinois are leading a project funded by the Illinois Soybean Association Checkoff program. This study aims to quantify the benefits of adopting conservation management practices, and they’re calling on 20 farmers to take part.

Participating is straightforward: all that’s needed is your field location (preferably field boundaries) and, if possible, up to three years of practice data. In return, you’ll receive cutting-edge estimates of historical carbon emissions and detailed analyses of potential environmental benefits from key climate-smart practices such as cover crops, reduced or no-till farming, and optimized fertilizer use.

This information will help you make informed decisions about which conservation practices might be most beneficial for your fields. Don’t miss this opportunity to contribute to vital research and gain insights into enhancing your farm.
