Join ILSoyAdvisor for a Tailgate Talk on July 28th near Augusta, IL. This field event is targeted towards growers interested in soybean fertility with an emphasis on sulfur nutrition.
During the Tailgate Talk, Dr. Connor Sible from the University of Illinois Crop Sciences Department will provide an overview of soybean nutrient requirements. He will discuss lb/bushel numbers and why nitrogen, phosphorus, and sulfur are important for soybeans beyond just potassium. He will also explain his reasoning of “once you have the macronutrients, the micronutrients become the next step for high yield management.”
Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) Director, Brady Holst, and AdvanSix Marketing Specialist, Zach Rolfe, will guide participants through an ammonium sulfate field trial on Holst’s farm and discuss its effect on soybean yields. Holst is a participant of the AdvanSix Supplement Your Soybeans Program.
Attendees will also interact with a team from the Missouri University of Science and Technology of Rolla. Their goal is to understand the various farming challenges for soybean and corn growers and researchers.
