The Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) agronomy team hosted the 2023 Soybean Summit in-person and virtually on Thursday, February 2nd at the I Hotel and Conference Center in Champaign, IL. We are eager to also share and promote “The Soybean Summit: All Star Edition” of the Illinois Field & Bean, a publication of ISA. This special issue features the all-stars who took the stage at the 2023 Soybean Summit. You’ll find a rich line up of industry leading experts and hot topics ranging from the latest agronomic insights, sustainable production, and agribusiness management advice, along with actionable recommendations to improve sustainably and boost farm profitability. Here are the featured articles and the “stars” that you can read and learn more about:
“Science for Success: A Panel Discussion” – This article will profile the Science for Success panel, an United Soybean Board funded initiative that brings together soybean specialists from several states. The Summit panel experts will include Dr. Giovanni Preza, Dr. Rachel Vann, and Dr. Laura Lindsey.
“Rooting for You” – This feature will profile Rachel Vann, the soybean specialist from North Carolina who grew up in Illinois. We’ll include her cover crop recommendations, lessons from North Carolina for Illinois growers, and what she’s learned from both experiences.
“Back to the Biological Future” – This feature will profile Dr. Vitor Rampazzo Favoretto and his professional focus on biological uses in the future. He took a new position at the University of Illinois as Disease and Pest Team Coordinator at the Soybean Innovation Lab which is profiled within the article.
“Head of the Class” – This feature will profile one of the students participating in the research poster session.
