Dr. Ahmad Fakhoury is a Professor in the Department of Crop, Soil and Environmental Management at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. His teaching responsibilities include courses such as Field Crop Diseases (CSEM/PSAS 403A), Field Crop Production (CSEM 300), and Biology of Plant-Microbe Interactions (CSEM/PSAS 455).

Dr. Fakhoury’s research focuses on plant pathology, fungal genetics, mycotoxins, and plant-microbe interactions, with an emphasis on improving crop health and productivity. He earned his Ph.D. in Botany and Plant Pathology from Purdue University, his M.Sc. in Plant Protection from the American University of Beirut, and his B.Sc. in Agriculture from the American University of Beirut.

Dr. Fakhoury enjoys hiking the scenic hills of Southern Illinois. An avid photographer, Dr. Fakhoury enjoys capturing stunning landscapes, flora and fauna, and candid family moments through his lens. Additionally, he takes great pleasure in cooking, experimenting with various cuisines, and sharing meals with loved ones. Originally from Beirut, Lebanon, his cultural heritage influences both his cooking and his perspective on life.
