Research Specialist
Jennifer Jones is the Research Specialist for the Illinois Soybean Association, where she manages checkoff funded agricultural research conducted by university and industry partners. She supports communicating research findings back to farmers. She is passionate about promoting best management practices in Illinois to preserve soil and water quality for future generations. Jones holds a B.S. in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences and a minor in Crop and Soil Management from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a M.S. in Agronomy from Purdue University, and is a Certified Crop Adviser with a 4R Nutrient Management Specialty certification.

During this field day in Iroquois County, the integration of crops and livestock will be showcased, highlighting the grazing of crop residues, cover crops, and annual forages. Host farmers will demonstrate how livestock integration operates on their farms and discuss its benefits for both soil health and the balance sheet.
A regional project called “Match Made In Heaven: Livestock + Crops” is surveying farmers to learn about a growing movement to reintegrate crop and livestock systems in the cornbelt.
