This presentation focuses on insect management recommendations for soybean producers in Southern Illinois. The biology, distribution, and management of dectes stem borer will be the primary topic; additional topics including stink bug monitoring and management, slugs, and economic thresholds for soybean defoliators will be highlighted.

Nick Seiter is a Field Crop Entomologist with the University of Illinois. He develops insect management recommendations for soybean and corn production in Illinois. He has a PhD in entomology from Clemson University, and BS and MS degrees in Entomology from Purdue University.
