MICHAEL HICKS UPDATES
We are starting to see some Black Cutworms in Western IL. Scout throughout the field and often.
We have been abnormally dry for this time of year. We have finally been lucky enough to catch some rain in the last 7 days with heavy down pours in some areas.
Heavy to none
Most field conditions are exceptional. Most fields went in as good as possible.
Emerging to V2
Concerns with Black cutworms
Cover crops got off to a really slow start this spring with the cool temperatures. In the last 14 days, we have seen extreme growth on covers that have not been terminated. Remember, if you have cereal grains that has went to head, you may want to consider rolling it down to help reduce grain in the soybeans at fall harvest.
