Milder temperatures this week are great for pods and kernel fill. A few sprayers/airplanes in the air. Keep monitoring for insects and disease.

FIELD/SOIL CONDITIONS

Crop looks good in the area, minus the early drowned out spots. A few fields that went in to rougher conditions are uneven.

INSECTS

Stink bugs are in some soybean fields.

WEEDS

Some weeds are poking through the canopy in soybeans. These weeds are too tall for chemical controls. Most soybeans herbicides are also off label at this point.

DISEASES

Eastern Iowa is seeing tar spot on several leaves below the ear. Be diligent and continue to monitor fields. SDS is present in some soybean fields.
