SYNOPSIS

1 inch rain over night. 85% done planting corn and soybeans. 50% emerged or bigger. Last 10 days insane progress planting. Sidedress UAN Beginning on early planted corn. Some post soybean spraying in areas.

WEATHER

Today mostly sunny, scattered showers

PRECIPITATION

1 inch overnight .

FIELD/SOIL CONDITIONS

Much better than 2 weeks ago. Moods much improved on the farm!

FIELD ACTIVITIES

Some planting still, spraying and sidedress on early corn.

SOYBEAN GROWTH STAGE

Emerging to 3rd trifoliate

CORN GROWTH STAGE

Emerging to V7

WHEAT GROWTH STAGE

Soft dough stage.

INSECTS

Some cutworms and stink bugs in cover crop fields. A few armyworm reports, nothing of note yet.

WEEDS

Waterhemp is bad and getting worse. Many early burn down fields were redone. Lots of weed regrowth in areas.

DISEASES

Not much yet. Give us a month!

COVER CROP INSIGHTS

Soil held well. Harboring insect issues in some places, slugs some too.

Much better mood here at end of month. Lots of work done in a short span of time. WHEW!!
